Stephen’s Story

Stephen Brewer is an American based guitarist and songwriter best known for his work with Los Angeles’ heavy metal and hard rock band Westfield Massacre.  After listening to Metallica’s “…And Justice for All,”  Stephen became interested in playing guitar at 13 years-old.  He was also influenced by bands such as Rush, Alice In Chains, Cradle of Filth, amongst many others.  After developing his style as a rock/metal guitarist, Stephen moved across the country from North Carolina in pursuit of his dream of becoming a professional musician.  After graduating from The Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, he became an active member of the famous Sunset Strip’s music scene, sharing the stage with LA’s elite performers during “Ultimate Jam Night’s.”

In 2016, Stephen joined Westfield Massacre and contributed to their debut self-titled album. Westfield Massacre’s first album debuted at #3 on iTunes Metal and #14 on Billboard’s Heatseekers.  Stephen had the opportunity to work with Lamb of God’s Randall Blythe, co-writing the single “Underneath the Skin.” The band has been featured in Alternative Press, Revolver and more, along with Stephen being featured on the cover of Revolver’s September 2016 issue. In support of their debut record, Westfield Massacre shared the stage supporting Sevendust and Trivium during the “Kill the Flaw Tour” and played at Ozzfest/Knotfest in 2016. In 2017, they toured with Candira before beginning work on their sophomore album. Stephen has been endorsed by ESP Guitars and Curt Mangan strings, along with attaining his own signature Curt Mangan Strings. When not recording and touring, Stephen uses his experience and education to teach aspiring guitarists with his online and in-person classes.
